An early morning snow shower that lasted in to the afternoon set a fitting backdrop for Smithton's 9th Annual Light-Up Night festivities.
Members from the Smithton Volunteer Fire Department and the Smithton Light-Up Night Committee met at the Smithton Fire Station to set up for the event.
Starting at 6:00pm was the lighting of Christmas Lights hung from the telephone poles throughout the Borough, followed by the Annual parade through the streets of Smithton. After the parade, the hundreds of on lookers celebrated the season by caroling, eating home made cookies and drinking hot chocolate. Some gathered around burn barrels to keep warm while others waited in line to see Santa. The night was capped off by a fantastic fire works display.
The Smithton Volunteer Fire Department and the Smithton Light-Up Night Committee would like to thank every one involved and wish every one a Happy Holiday Season.
